What is a Home Sleep Apnea Test?

A home sleep apnea test is just as it sounds: a sleep test you can take home to determine if you have sleep apnea. You may come into the sleep center to pick up equipment for the home sleep test, or we can ship it directly to you. The data obtained is stored on the equipment and is uploaded to the sleep center the following day. Our sleep specialist will call you with your results.

An In-Lab Sleep Study May Still Be Necessary

Once diagnosed, your physician may prefer you have an in-lab study. These studies are attended by a sleep technologist and capture many more signals, including brainwaves for sleep, muscle tone, and leg movements. An overnight study may be preferred for people with heart, breathing, or neuromuscular problems.
